Melaka

Melaka is located in southern Malaysia on the Straits of Malacca.  It is about 90 minutes from where we live.  It is a really old place, one of the smallest Malaysian states, settled by the Portuguese.  It was fun to visit.  Very historic.

The humidity does wonders for our hair.
It makes it so, how should I say it, um...boofy.

Old forts...
 Cannons...
 More cannons...

A really old church...
It rained...
and then cleared up.

This cute little girl sold Marin this little sleep mask.  :)

These little bike carts are all over Melaka.
They blast music (really loudly) while they drive you around.
They only fit 2 people so we didn't actually try one.  They are so colorful!

What little boy doesn't love a wooden samurai sword?
 Another old fort...

 Wishing well...

One of the tombs...it says April 9th (my Bday)

 Maritime Museum, Portuguese merchant ship...
Isabelle and I opted out, since you had to take your shoes off in order to go in.  LOL!

Lots of walking and sore feet (notice Marin's face).
The humidity is in full effect (notice the hair).
